The students from the University Diego Portales (UDP), in Santiago Chile, have been collaborating with ES to come up with new applications for salmon leather. Some of their ideas have been quite ingenious indeed.
These concept products show that salmon leather’s unique qualities make it extremely versatile and ideal for diverse uses.
For instance its flexibility, soft feel and grippy texture make it an ideal material for protective cases of personal electronic devices such as cell phones and laptops.
Salmon leather’s unique texture is highly decorative with a natural pattern that accentuates forms and colors which combines very well with other materials, such as sophisticated polymers, metals, glass and other more natural materials such a wood or wool.
The “Wine Bag” below is a wonderful example of the combination of salmon leather and wool. Here the wool acts as an insulator, whilst the salmon leather gives the bag form and distinction.
The Manguito, is a very classic Chilean fashion accessory. It is typically used by women to keep their hands warm in the winter time. Again we see the fantastic combination of salmon leather and wool.
This Salmon Shoe a concept sports shoe, shows how the elasticity and lightness of salmon leather can follow contours superbly, whilst still retaining its strength.
